French Declaration of the Rights of Man (draft/thesis)

After having aided colonial America in the final victory against England, the French populace was inspired to form its own revolutionary movement against the present King Louis XVI. In 1789 Marquis de Lafayette proposed the Declaration of the Rights of Man and Citizen during an organized National Assembly. According to the representatives corruption in government is caused by ignorance to the rights of men and with the Declaration of Independence as a model, they established a list of the natural human rights as they were Minder to any government official forgetful enough to violate. After having examined the rights covered in France's declaration I find that one person own favorite of mine is number 11 which states and I quote," free communication of ideas and opinions is one of the most precious of the rights of man. Consequently, every citizen may speak, write, and print freely, subject to responsibility for the abuse of such liberty in the cases determined by law." I find this point incredibly important because it demands that every individual have the right to express themselves and not censor free speech. I wish to have a career as a writer and filmmaker and so this is a very personal point of interest because I believe that people with potential to make fine art should not be suppressed in what kind of material or subject matter they depict.
